Mayor Tom Salm called the work session of the City of North Liberty City Council at 6:00 p.m.
Council members present: Bahl, Kuhl, Moody, Wilkerson and Wozniak.
Others present: Tracey Mulcahey, Don Colony, and Guy Goldsmith
Facility Tour. The City Council toured the public works facilities. Street Superintendent Colony and Parks Superintendent Goldsmith guided the tour of their buildings and facilities.
At 7:00 p.m., the meeting reconvened in Council Chambers.
Agenda. Kuhl moved, Wilkerson seconded to approve the agenda. All ayes. Motion carried.
Library Expansion Committee Update. Doug Neale and Dee Crowner, co-chairs of the Library Expansion Committee presented information regarding contracts with the fundraiser and architect. Council discussed options for expansion of the library with the committee. The contracts for the fundraiser and architect will be considered at the October 23 council meeting.
Chamber of Commerce Lobbying Trip. Council discussed options for the Chamber of Commerce Trip to Washington DC scheduled for March. Council determined that the following projects should be presented for consideration:
1. Penn Street bridge/overpass
2. Highway 965 project
3. Dubuque Street Trail.
It was recommended that three representatives plan to participate in this trip.
Old Business. None was presented.
New Business. Mulcahey presented Council with information relating to wireless internet contracts that will be considered at a future meeting. Council was asked to provide input regarding these contracts.
Mulcahey asked Council about the November worksession scheduled for the week of Thanksgiving. Council consensus was that the meeting did not need to occur that week.
Mayor Salm inquired about a goal setting meeting with Jeff Schott. Council agreed to schedule the meeting for March.
At 8:18 p.m., Moody moved, Kuhl seconded to adjourn. All ayes. Meeting adjourned.
