November 12, 2008
Mayor Salm called the regular City Council meeting of the City of North Liberty to order at 7:00 p.m.
Council members present: Chipman, Donahue, Hoffman, Kuhl, Wozniak.
Others present: City Administrator Ryan Heiar, City Attorney Scott Peterson, City Planner Dean Wheatley, City Engineer Kevin Trom, City Clerk Tracey Mulcahey, Josh Schamberger, Lori Lindner, Guy Goldsmith, Don Colony, Dan Lange, Duane Musser, Adam Bohr, Bill Mausser, Corinne Lemmage, Rebecca Neades, Mike Pugh and other interested citizens.
Approval of the Agenda. Kuhl moved, Chipman seconded to approve the agenda. The vote was: ayes – Hoffman, Donahue, Wozniak, Chipman, Kuhl; nays — none. Motion carried.
Consent Agenda. Kuhl moved, Wozniak seconded to approve the consent agenda including City Council Minutes – Regular Council Meeting – October 28, 2008, the attached list of bills, Wastewater Treatment Plant Project. Pay request number 19 – Staab Construction, $69,701, and Penn Street/I-380 Project. Pay request number 4 – Metro Pavers, $484,352.28. The vote was: ayes – Donahue, Wozniak, Kuhl, Chipman, Hoffman; nays – none. Motion carried.
Public Comment. No public comment was offered.
City Attorney Report. City Attorney Peterson reported that staff is going through recodification process. Peterson and Wheatley are going through the subdivision ordinance. Councilor Chipman inquired about recodification.
City Engineer Report. City Engineer Trom reported on the following projects:
ASR Well. The contractor has have mobilized, set up drill rig, and started drilling. Foreman asked staff to come to him directly with concerns.
Gerdin Conference Center. The contractor has started construction.
I380/Penn Street Interchange. The signals became operable on Monday. No problems or concerns have been reported.
City Administrator Report. City Administrator Heiar reported on the following:
• Legislative Open House hosted by ECICOG on Tuesday, November 18 from 4 – 6 p.m. at Coralville City Hall.
• Highway 965 Corridor Master Plan presentation has been scheduled on November 25 at 6:00 p.m. A press release and direct emails will be issued.
