Jones Boulevard construction starting soon

April 5 — Work on Jones Boulevard will begin in a few days. Jones Boulevard will be reconstructed from 400-feet south of St. Andrews Drive to Penn Street in North Liberty. The project will include grading, new pavement, storm sewer system, wide sidewalk, additional lighting, and miscellaneous street related construction.
The project will be constructed in phases with sections of road closures starting on the south end of the project.
Phase One is located between approximately 400-feet south of St. Andrews Drive and 400-feet south of Harvest Street. Construction is planned to begin April 11 with storm sewer installation. During this time, the road will be open for through traffic but may be reduced to one-lane in areas. Following storm sewer work this section of road will be closed for grading and paving work. The road closure for Phase One is planned for approximately May 16 until June 20. As always, closures and construction schedules are contingent on weather.
Subsequent road closures will follow in phases to the north after the Phase One section is open to traffic. For more information contact City Hall at (319) 626-5700.
