Gonna be a slow week

The weather for this week is certainly not conducive for construction projects.  With precipitation and cool temperatures projected for the rest of the week, it appears that line stripping on Highway 965 will be delayed yet again.  The challenge we have with line stripping is that we need the temperature to hover around at least 55 degrees for a few days in a row.  Obviously, rain is a real deterrent as well.  Hopefully, next week will bring dryer skies, warmer temps and lines on Highway 965.
The good news is that the stop lights at Ashley Court are in flash mode.  These lights should be fully operation by the end of the week.  Landscaping for this project is scheduled to start in May. With any luck and some decent weather, we should be able to close this project out in July.
Utility works continues on the Jones Boulevard project.  Actual street construction is expected to begin within the next few weeks.  Of course, that is also weather dependent.
The Golfview Connection project and the Dubuque Street Trail project go out for bid this week.  Work on both projects won’t start until late May or early June.
The parking lot project at Penn Meadows park is progressing nicely as the contractor was able to take advantage of the decent weather earlier this month.  The project, which include the installation of a 70-stall parking lot, rain gardens and bio-retention basins, is scheduled to be completed by July.
Check back soon; as updates occur, I will be posting.
Take care and enjoy the week!
