Jones to Heat Up

We have been promised by the contractors that paving will begin tomorrow on St. Andrews Drive and Jones Boulevard.  Wednesday, they will work on the new section of St. Andrews Drive and Friday they should begin paving Jones Boulevard.  They will continue to work their way north, to Penn Street, the remainder of the construction season.
You have probably noticed that traffic has been shifted to the south side on Penn Street.  Crews have begun panel replacement on the north side of the roadway.  There are certain sections on the north side of the road that are in very poor condition.  As late as today, we have actually added several more panels to be replaced.  Despite the added work, the project remains on schedule.
The bridge culvert on Golfview Drive, crossing Muddy Creek, is installed.  If you get a chance to take a peek you should…it is very cool to see this project coming together.  The contractor has begun removal of the center section of the existing Golfview Drive.  They have more removal to complete prior to paving; however, they should start paving within the next two weeks.  The bike trail continues to be closed due to this project, probably through September 1.  Please use the established detours when using the trail.

Progress has been made on the Dubuque Street Trail in front of Penn Elementary this week.  The concrete work should be completed in front of the school soon and is required to be completed before the start of the school year.  Crews will continue to work on the north and south sections of this project to complete the trail.
Thanks for checking in…stay cool.
