Nominations open for the North Liberty Hall of Fame open

Inductees honored for public service and dedication to the city and its community.
The City of North Liberty is seeking nominations for 2014 recipients of the Community Hall of Fame Award. The award was developed in 2013 to recognize individuals who provided extraordinary public service and dedication to the community.
The inaugural recipients, awarded last year during the city’s centennial celebration, were Russ Gerdin, a philanthropist and the founder of Heartland Express, and Natlie Wilkerson, who gave selflessly of her time, particularly to those in need, and helped found the North Liberty Community Pantry.
Nominations for 2014 recipients may be made through Oct. 1, 2014, after which the city council and mayor will select inductees based on service rendered to the community, with special consideration given to those who demonstrate a high level of volunteer leadership. Participation in local volunteer organizations, longevity in public service and community impact are also considered. Eligible nominees must live, work or provide services directly to the North Liberty community. Inductees will be announced at a fall banquet.
