City sponsors new IC CoLab in Liberty Plaza

The City of North Liberty announced it will sponsor the new IC CoLab North Liberty, located in Liberty Plaza, 215 Highway 965. The space is a collaboration between Vantage Point Properties and the Iowa City Area Development Group, and joins two other ICAD-developed co-labs located in Iowa City and Coralville.
“Supporting places where new ideas can take root and grow are key to nurturing new business in North Liberty,” said Mayor Gerry Kuhl. “The IC CoLab North Liberty is an opportunity for serendipity to act on great ideas to create even bigger opportunities.”
Innovative loyalty-and-discount-card startup BlendCard, which received the first loan from the City of North Liberty’s small business development program earlier this year, also has its offices in the co-lab.
The co-working space offers a place for startups and early-stage businesses to work and collaborate — replete with necessities like high-speed internet and coffee — at less expense than traditional office space and with more collaboration opportunities than a home office.
The co-working space offers space at a variety of rates, starting at $15 a day to just drop in up to $200 a month to use the space full-time. More information about the program is available at iccolab.com.
