“This is a nice place”

When Leighton Smith and his family moved last fall, they were looking for a neighborhood they could call their own.
“We’ve had a really nice experience so far and are grateful for it,” writes Smith, “punctuated today more than any other time.”

This morning we went for a walk to the hardware store by our neighborhood pond and [my son] Henry asked when we could go fishing (I have no fishing skills). On our way back some friends and neighbors were there fishing and invited us to join. Henry caught his first fish, a bluegill!
Unrelated, just last weekend I mentioned over a s’mores fire that I needed to get together some firewood and a place to store it. (I have virtually no building skills.) Tonight I came home from working the afternoon to find a fully built firewood rack in our backyard.
Gosh and good golly, this is a nice place. Thanks neighbors!
