On March 1, weather permitting, crews will begin work removing trees along North Liberty Road north of Dubuque Street. The work will require crews and equipment to work along and on North Liberty Road between Dubuque Street and Oak Lane, occasionally reducing traffic to a single lane or requiring intermittent closures.
This work is in advance of a full closure expected around March 14 of North Liberty Road from Dubuque Street to Oak Lane, which is required to widen and pave the road in preparation of Liberty High School. Additionally, in mid-April, the construction of a roundabout at Dubuque Street and North Liberty Road will prevent access to North Liberty Road from Dubuque Street.
Drivers are asked to use caution around the work site, allow extra travel time, and find alternative routes when possible. Details and updates on this and other North Liberty construction projects are available at northlibertyiowa.org/projects.
