This fall, join us for tons of fun

rec programming fall 2016

The Recreation Department’s brochure for fall 2016, with program listings for September through December 2016 in the recreation and aquatic centers as well as the Community Library, is now available online. Printed copies will be distributed with the monthly NoJoCo newspaper and at the Community Center, 520 W. Cherry St.

Highlights for the coming months include brand-new programs such as the Halloween Moonlight Walk, a night walk and movie at Liberty Centre on Oct. 14; a Star Party, Sept. 9, to learn about the night sky and things that go bump in the night in partnership with Take a Kid Outdoors; and Wiggle Worms and Wiggle Together, two programs to enrich kids as they explore music and movement.

Returning favorites include Lucky Duck Swim, $1 swim days now on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting in September; an Iowa River kayaking and canoeing trip on Oct. 1; and Haunted Happenings, two nights of spoooOOOoooky fun in partnership with the North Liberty Optimists. Also returning is Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 3 and more.

The brochure also highlights the North Liberty Firefighters Foundation’s Salute to Summer on Aug. 2o; the North Liberty Community Library’s Baby Fair on Aug. 28, the community-organized Porchfest on Aug. 20; and other community events.

Registration for most recreation programs begins Monday, Aug. 1, with most programs beginning the week of Jan. 6. Registration for most programs is available online through ActiveNet.
