Residents gear up for North Liberty Porchfest
What if there was an afternoon when neighborhood porches became stages and everyone just walked around listening to musicians, hanging out on lawns and sidewalks, and connected with fellow residents? Inspired by events around the country, a group of North Liberty residents has organized the first year of North Liberty Porchfest to take place in the Arlington Ridge neighborhood off of Dubuque Street from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 20. Over 30 performers are volunteering to share their talents with the community on porch stages for this family-friendly music festival.
Additional activities include an instrument craft tent, sidewalk chalking, family and kids yoga, a rock star hair styling station, and food trucks. Attendees are encourage to bring along lawn chairs and blankets. Learn more and view a full schedule of performances at www.porchfestnl.com.
