Centennial Park paving requires evening and morning noise

centennial-park-phase-2Summer, the second phase of Centennial Park development began, including the addition of 150-space pervious pavement parking lot, a 10-foot-wide walking trail around the perimeter, a sidewalk along St. Andrews Drive, and Iowa’s largest bioswale.

As with any paving project, there will be times when crews will need to work in late evening or early morning hours to saw cut concrete as it cures so it doesn’t crack as it shrinks. The timing of cutting is based on factors such as air temperature and humidity, and is timing is critical.

Another round of saw cutting control cuts is expected to occur into evening of Oct. 5, 2016, with crews returning to complete the the cutting at 5 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6.
