City Hall Closed Wednesday, April 24, for Move

City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, so staff can move from the current, leased offices to the new, permanent building.

The final day of operations at 3 Quail Creek Center will be Tuesday, April 23.

City Hall will reopen at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Roll Call

At 6:30 p.m., Chair Ronda Detlefsen called the December 6, 2016 Regular Session of the North Liberty Planning Commission to order.  Commission members present: Jennifer Bleil, Ronda Detlefsen, Adam Gebhart, and Kylie Pentecost; absent – Josh Covert, Jason Heisler, Patrick Staber.

Others present: Dean Wheatley, Ryan Heiar, Tracey Mulcahey, Scott Peterson Kevin Trom, Megan Benischek and other interested parties.

Agenda Approval

Bleil moved, Gebhart seconded to approve the agenda. The vote was all ayes. Agenda approved.

Fox Valley, Part Four Revised Preliminary Plat

Staff Presentation

Wheatley presented the request of Fox Valley, Inc. to approve a revised preliminary plat, Fox Valley Part 4, for single-family residential development south of Forevergreen Road and west of Jones Boulevard. Staff recommends approval with no conditions.

Applicants Presentation

Beth Saxton was present on behalf of the applicant. She offered to answer questions regarding the plat.

Public Comments

No public comments were offered.

Questions and Comments

The Commission discussed the application.

Recommendation to the City Council

Pentecost moved, Bleil seconded to recommend approval of Revised Preliminary Plat for Fox Valley, Part 4 with no conditions to the City Council. The vote was: ayes – Gebhart, Pentecost, Bleil, Detlefsen; nays – none. Motion carried.

The Depot Express Site Plan

Staff Presentation

Wheatley presented the request of The Depot Express to approve a site plan for a new convenience store located at the northwest corner of Dubuque Street and North Liberty Road, directly west of Liberty High School.  Staff recommends approval of the plat.

Applicants Presentation

The architect was present and offered to answer questions.  The Commission discussed the site plan with the applicant.

The Commission discussed the application.

Recommendation to the City Council

Gebhart moved, Bleil seconded to recommend approval of The Depot Express Site Plan to the City Council with no conditions.  The vote was: ayes – Pentecost, Bleil, Detlefsen,   Gebhart; nays – none. Motion carried.

Approval of previous Minutes

Gebhart moved, Bleil seconded to approve the minutes of the previous meeting.  The vote was all ayes. Minutes approved.

Old Business

No old business was presented.

New Business

Wheatley reported that there is one case for next month.

Adjournment

At 6:42 p.m., Bleil moved, Gebhart seconded to adjourn. All ayes. Meeting adjourned.
