City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Audit report for fiscal year 2016 available

Winkel, Parker & Foster, CPA PC today released an audit report on the City of North Liberty for the year ended June 30, 2016.

The City’s receipts totaled $26,826,568, a 14.6 percent increase from 2015. The receipts included $8,053, 179 in property tax, $4,509,489 in tax increment financing revenues, $10,096,467 from charges for service, $2,078,288 from operating grants, contributions and restricted interest, $1,673,552 from capital grants, contributions and restricted interest, $29,515 from unrestricted interest on cash investments, and $386,078 from other receipts.

The City received $20,216,127 from bond and loan proceeds during the year.

Disbursements for the year totaled $43,687,161, a 51.0 percent increase from 2015, due to increased capital projects such as the waste water plant expansion. The disbursements for governmental-type activities included $8,023,964 for capital projects, $4,831,259 for debt service, and $3,593,454 for culture and recreation. Also, disbursements for business-type activities totaled $19,430,925.

A copy of the audit report is available for review in the office of the Auditor of State and the City Clerk’s office. It was presented to the City Council on Jan. 10, 2017, and is available online here.
