City Hall Closed Wednesday, April 24, for Move

City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, so staff can move from the current, leased offices to the new, permanent building.

The final day of operations at 3 Quail Creek Center will be Tuesday, April 23.

City Hall will reopen at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Police investigating non-lethal shooting (updated)

On Jan. 16, 2017, at 3:15 p.m., North Liberty Officers were called to 35 Golfview, for a 19-year-old male that sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Originally, the victim reported not knowing the gunman. A witness reported that a black male, wearing a dark colored hoodie, shot the victim with a handgun and fled northeast on foot through the trailer court.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the original report was false, and this was an accidental shooting. The victim’s condition remains stable.  

This case remains under investigation and no other information is available at his time.

At 3:15 p.m. on Jan. 16, 2017, North Liberty Officers were called to 35 Golfview Drive for a 19-year-old male that sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim reported not knowing the gunman. A witness reported that a black male, wearing a dark-colored hoodie, shot the victim with a handgun and fled northeast on foot through the trailer court. This suspect was not located.

The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance, and his condition is not known at this time.

This case remains under investigation and no other information is available.
