City Hall Closed Wednesday, April 24, for Move

City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, so staff can move from the current, leased offices to the new, permanent building.

The final day of operations at 3 Quail Creek Center will be Tuesday, April 23.

City Hall will reopen at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Police Department respond to David Lee Court residence (updated)

Around 2:19 a.m., North Liberty officers were requested to check the area of David Lee Court for a vehicle and suspect involved in a robbery in Iowa City.  Officers located a vehicle fitting the description.  Iowa City Police came to the area to investigate and collect evidence.  While on scene, around 5:10 a.m., officers made contact with the residents of 60 David Lee Court.  While speaking to the residents in the entryway, gunshots were heard from inside.  The officers were able to get the other individuals inside evacuated.  Adjoining condominiums were also evacuated. 
We requested the assistance of the Johnson County Special Emergency Response Team to clear the remainder of the residence.  Deputies cleared the home and located a deceased male inside around 8:00 a.m. A witness reported that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted, and was supported by visual evidence, however, the case will remain open until the autoposy is completed.  

Dairion Cortez Bradley, age 21, of Cedar Rapids was identified as the deceased individual.  

There is no public safety threat at this time.
