New dance classes for tots start in January

Tippi Toes, dance classes with the mission to develop a love of dancing in children by creating a positive experience that promotes healthy living habits, helps build self-confidence and a love for others, is coming the North Liberty Community Center in 2018. Registration opens on Dec. 20, 2017, online and in person. We’ll offer three different classes, each help on Thursdays.

Toddler & Me

Dance Classes are for children 18 months up to the age of 3 years old. Music, movement, balance and the basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner. This type of class includes mom or dad or another loved one participating in the class along with the little dancer. Teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along while parents take an active role in encouraging, supporting and keeping the little dancer on track. This class is held on Thursdays from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m.

Baby Ballet

Class is a wonderful transition between Toddler & Me and Ballet, Tap & Jazz. Music, movement, balance and the basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner. Dancer s do not have to have mom or dad or another loved one by their side during class. Class is for those children who will be able to participate in class on their own. Teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along that is fun, positive and appropriate for children 2 to 3 years of age. This class is held on Thursdays from 10 to 10:30 a.m.

Ballet, Tap & Jazz

Ballet, Tap & Jazz dance classes are typically offered for children 4 to 6 years old. Class incorporates an even mix of the three types of dance over the 45 minutes using high-energy music. The class is held Thursdays from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.
