Make your trash choice by May 21

Since announcing the coming modernization of North Liberty’s a trash, recycling, yard waste and curbside compost system, more than 3,000 households have selected their program, with 46 percent selecting a 65-gallon collected weekly, 30 percent selecting a 35-gallon bin collected weekly and 24 percent selecting a 35-gallon bin collected biweekly.

That leaves about 3,000 households let to choose before May 21, 2018. Selected bins will be delivered in June. A selection can be made by returning the mailer each customer received earlier this month or by selecting online here.

The three options are:

  • Option A: 65-gallon trash bin collected weekly for $14.65 per month
  • Option B: 35-gallon trash bin collected weekly for $12.65 per month
  • Option C: 35-gallon trash bin collected every other week for $7.65 per month

Households who don’t select by May 21, 2018, will receive Option A. Most households will also receive a 95-gallon heavy-duty recycling bin, with some exceptions for multifamily residential. The cost of recycling and annual cleanup day will remain $5.15 per household.

Photos of the bins, and additional information, are available at northlibertyiowa.org/trash. Bins are also on display at the North Liberty Community Library, 520 W. Cherry Street.
