Wastewater Department - Operator I
The City of North Liberty (population 10,000) is accepting applications for a Wastewater Plant Operator I to work at the city’s new Membrane Bioreactor wastewater treatment facility. Duties include plant operations, laboratory testing, maintenance of plant and lift stations, and general duties as assigned. Iowa Grade I WW license required with the ability to obtain a Grade II within two years. Class B CDL with air brakes required or ability to obtain within six months. Parks Department - Seasonal Groundskeeper
The Parks Department is now accepting applications for twelve Seasonal Groundskeepers. Starting pay is $10.04 per hour. Responsible for keeping City parks and grounds clean, safe and enjoyable for residents. Position requires no previous work experience. Must be at least 18 years old. Must have a valid Iowa driver’s license. Must be self-motivated and have a high energy level. Requires heavy work, exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally and in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly. Some climbing, pulling, kneeling, stooping, fingering, crawling, crouching, feeling, standing, reaching, hearing, pushing, walking, balancing, lifting, grasping, talking, and repetitive motion is also required on a regular basis. Visual perception range includes working at distances close to the eyes, to operating machines at or within arm’s reach, to operating mobile equipment. Must be able to follow one or two step instructions with routine and repetitive tasks. Position requires exposure to both inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, vibration and poor ventilation. Requires wearing a respirator for some job duties.

Fire Department - Volunteer Firefighters
The North Liberty Volunteer Fire Department is looking for individuals over the age of 18 who live or work in Penn or Madison Townships (this includes all of North Liberty and some surrounding area) to serve as volunteer firefighters. We currently are seeking those available weekdays between 8:00am and 5:00pm. Address questions to Chief Eric Vandewater or Asst. Chief Bryan Hardin. Recreation Department - Aquatic Facility Positions
The Recreation Department is accepting applications for pool personnel such as lifeguards and swim lesson instructors. Opportunities currently include part time and full time positions for summer. Duties of this part-time position include program registration, answering phones, answering patron questions, light cleaning and facility supervision.
