Commissions/Boards
There are currently eight commissions that assist in department overview and making recommendations to City Council:
Board of Adjustment
Board of Appeals
Cemetery Board
Library Board of Trustees
Parks and Recreation Commission
Planning and Zoning Commission
Telecommunications Commission
Tree and Stormwater Advisory Board
Board members are appointed after completing an application and interviewing with the Mayor and/or the staff liaison for the commission and receiving a recommendation for appointment by the Mayor and City Council.
Appointments are typically for three year terms.
Tree and Stormwater Board (Two Positions)
The Tree and Stormwater Board studies, plans, advises and recommends actions necessary for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, or removal of trees, shrubs and plants in City parks, along streets and in other public areas. The Board is responsible for programming and events relating to stormwater quality like invasive removal and other fun projects. Some of their successes include a garlic mustard removal project and the creation of a stormwater quality grant program. The Board meets monthly. Applications are available for these positions online and at City Hall.
