Pool Rules

The rules for the North Liberty Aquatic Center have been established for the safety of our guests and facility. By enforcing these rules we hope to provide the best swimming experience for everyone using the pool. Please respect both the rules and the staff.

Supervision:
1. Children 8 years and younger must be accompanied by a responsible adult 16 years or older.
2. Adult to child ratios for supervision of children must follow these guidelines:
• Infants to Toddlers (0-3 years old)- Caregiver must be within arms reach and attired in regulation swim wear. 2 children per caregiver.
• Preschoolers (4-5 years old)- 5 children per caregiver.
• Grade School Ages (6-8 years old)- 10 children per caregiver.

Pool Attire:
1. Inflatable objects are not allowed in the pool and life jackets must be Coast Guard approved.

General Rules:
1. The following objects are prohibited from the facility: glass (except prescription eyewear), band-aids, gum, play pens, hard balls such as racquetballs, tennis, footballs, outside containers and coolers.

Pool Closure:
1. In the event of lightning conditions, the outdoor pool will be closed for 15 minutes. If additional lightning is spotted within that time frame, the 15 minute period will re-start from the time of the spotting. If conditions persist for 1 hour, we reserve the right to close the outdoor pool for the remainder of the shift.
2. The outdoor pool will be closed due to adverse weather conditions. Conditions will be evaluated and the final decision for opening will be determined at 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for each shift. Shifts are 12:00-4:00 and 4:00-8:00.

WARNING
Failure to follow the above rules can result in serious injury.
Those found disobeying the posted rules may be removed from the pools without refund.
