Credit and debit card information compromised

The North Liberty Police Department has received reports of potential credit card and debit card fraud and is investigating the possibility that a “skimmer” has been placed at an area business. A skimmer is used to steal card information and is generally placed in ATMs and fuel pumps. Visit Kim Komando’s post about how to spot and protect yourself from skimming.

The NLPD is asking credit and debt card users to check their accounts immediately. If you have any suspicious activity on your account, contact your bank or credit card company immediately. If you are a victim of credit card fraud immediately contact your local law enforcement agency.
