Closure: Access to Ranshaw Way from Zeller Street (Updated)

Weather permitting, work on will begin on Zeller Street and Ranshaw Way on Monday, July 30, preventing access from Zeller Street. Over the following days, conditions will shift so crews can relocate power and controls to the intersection’s traffic signals and complete reconstruction of the intersection ahead of the start of the school year.

Monday, July 30: The east side of the Zeller Street intersection with Ranshaw Way will close, and the west side of the Zeller Street intersection will remain closed, and there will be no access to Ranshaw Way from Zeller Street. The east side closure is expected to last up to three weeks, but to reopen before the start of the school year.

Wednesday, Aug. 1: Traffic signals at the Zeller Street and Ranshaw Way intersection will be turned off so the traffic signal power and controls can be relocated. Northbound and Southbound traffic will free flow through the intersection, but there will be no access between Ranshaw Way and Zeller Street.

Saturday, Aug. 4: The west side of the Zeller Street intersection with Ranshaw Way is expected to reopen to traffic, though the east side of Zeller Street will remain closed.

During the work, the following detours will be in effect:

  • Zeller Street traffic west of Ranshaw Way will be detoured along Westwood Drive and Sugar Creek Lane.
  • Zeller Street traffic east of Ranshaw Way will be detoured along Stewart Street and Cherry Street.
  • Ranshaw Way will be open to northbound and southbound traffic during the work.

Drivers are asked to use caution around the work site, allow extra travel time, and find alternative routes when possible. Details and updates on this and other North Liberty construction projects are available at northlibertyiowa.org/projects.
