Get Moving into a Healthy Fall

Fall is a great time to start a new workout, and our recreation department can help.

Starting in mid-September, we’re launching two new music-infused cardio classes, Zumba and Pound, to add to our roster of no-judgement fitness opportunities, including yoga, barre, and other cardio classes.

Zumba is a cardio focused class infused with Latin dances and hip-hop where you can expect 5 to 7,000 steps in this class. Adaptable for all fitness levels, Zumba is a fitness party instructed by Jackie Maher. Register for September, October, November or December classes, with drop-in is available for $12 per class if space remains.

Pound is better than listening to music, because you become the music in an exhilarating full-body workout combining cardio, conditioning and strength training with yoga- and Pilates-inspired moves. Pound uses lightly weighted drumsticks built specifically for exercise, led by Diane Heiken. Register for September, October, November or December classes, with drop-in is available for $4 per class if space remains.

Patrons can register on RecDesk, by mail or in person at the Community Center.
