City Hall Reopened at 360 N Main St.

City Hall has moved from its previous, leased offices into the new, permanent building at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m.

The public can accesses the same services at the new location during the same business hours: 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Departments located at the building include Administration, Billing and Finance, Building Inspection, Planning, Community Relations and Human Resources.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Gun Shots Fired Outside a Business

At approximately 2:20 a.m., officers with the North Liberty Police Department responded to the area of the 500 Block of Penn Court in reference to the report of several gunshots. Multiple callers reported there were several gunshots and a lot of cars leaving from the rear of 580 N Madison Ave., and a subject running with a gun.

Arriving officers located several spent shell casings in the rear parking lot of the building. Officers also observed holes in the rear of the building that were consistent with bullet holes. At this time there are no known victims.

The North Liberty Police Department was assisted by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Coralville Police Department, Iowa City Police Department and the Joint Emergency Communication Center.

No further information is available right now as this is an ongoing investigation. We will provide an update when more information is obtained.
