Give Input for the Future of Regional Transportation

Our area’s regional planning affiliation, East Central Iowa Council of Governments, is working on a 5-year passenger transportation plan. This PTP helps determine what passenger transportation will look like in Johnson, Benton, Iowa, Jones, Linn and Washington Counties through 2025.

“The PTP is an important process to understand what people in eastern Iowa want for public transportation in the future, and how the current transit services can be improved,” said Transit Administrator and Planner Brock Grenis. “Getting public input is the best way we can make sure the PTP is accurate and that future investments in transit services are what people want and need.”

Passenger transportation can include: public transit, taxi and transportation networks such as Uber or Lyft, volunteer driver programs, non-emergency medical transportation and other related services. The plan aims to bring light to unmet needs, improve Iowans’ transportation services and justify future investments. This plan covers 2021 through 2025 for the non-metropolitan areas of the counties.

ECICOG wants to hear from you, whether your currently use passenger transportation or not. You can access the survey until Feb. 28, 2021. Responses are fully confidential.
