City Hall Closed Wednesday, April 24, for Move

City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, so staff can move from the current, leased offices to the new, permanent building.

The final day of operations at 3 Quail Creek Center will be Tuesday, April 23.

City Hall will reopen at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

City Seeks Applicants for Tree and Stormwater Advisory Board

The Tree and Stormwater Advisory Board, which helped implement the storm drain painting public art project, has a vacancy, and the city is seeking volunteer applicants. Appointment is to complete a term ending June 30, 2021.  Full appointments are for a three-year term.

The Tree and Stormwater Advisory Board studies, plans, advises and recommends actions necessary for the care, preservation, pruning, planting, or removal of trees, shrubs and plants in City parks, along streets and in other public areas. The Board is responsible for programming and events relating to stormwater quality like invasive removal and other fun projects. Some of their successes include a garlic mustard removal project and the creation of a stormwater quality grant program. The Board meets quarterly. Applications are available for this position online and at City Hall, 3 Quail Creek Circle.

Applications are due Feb. 16.  Completed applications can be mailed to City Hall; c/o City Clerk; P.O. Box 77; North Liberty, IA 52317; in person at City Hall or by email at [email protected]. Iowa State Code requires that cities have gender balance on all boards and commissions. With appointments and reappointments, gender balance will be considered. Applicants must be 18 years old and a legal resident of the City. An appointment will be made by the North Liberty City Council at its March 23 regular meeting.
