City Hall Closed Wednesday, April 24, for Move

City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, so staff can move from the current, leased offices to the new, permanent building.

The final day of operations at 3 Quail Creek Center will be Tuesday, April 23.

City Hall will reopen at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Black American History with Alma Thomas and Richard Pryor

Black History Month, marked each February, and offers Americans a chance to, in the words of President Gerald Ford, “seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of Black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history.”

In addition to events offered by The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institution and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, the North Liberty Library is hosting events through the month in recognition, consideration and celebration.

Both the kids and t(w)een activity kits for February highlight the life and work of Black artist Alma Thomas. Register for the kids kits starting Feb. 1. Register for T(w)een kits starting Feb. 8. Both are while supplies last and available for curbside pickup.

Senior 55+ Connections will discuss Richard Pryor’s experiences as an iconic Black man in the 1960s. North Liberty residents can access the film, for free, via Kanopy with their library card.
