North Liberty Hosts Solar Power Hour as Grow Solar Nears Second Milestone

Nearly 20 households in Linn and Johnson counties are on their way to getting clean solar energy. With these “sunny day” investments, Grow Solar Linn + Johnson Counties has met its first goal of 50 collective kilowatts (kW), bringing a discount to all participants, and is closing in on the second of four discount goals.

Residents can learn more by joining the North Liberty-cohosted Solar Power Hour online at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021. Sign up now! If you can’t make that one, check out the other offerings and sign up at linnjohnson.growsolar.org.

This solar group buy and education program for residences, businesses and farms launched with below market rate pricing. By reaching the first milestone, participants save another 3 cents per watt. Additional cost savings are in store if the group buy collectively reaches 150 kW, 300 kW and 500 kW milestones, potentially bringing the cost down to $1.99/watt. Any saving thresholds reached after property owners sign on for solar are retroactively rebated to those owners. The installer is Eagle Point Solar.
