City Hall Closed Wednesday, April 24, for Move

City Hall will be closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, so staff can move from the current, leased offices to the new, permanent building.

The final day of operations at 3 Quail Creek Center will be Tuesday, April 23.

City Hall will reopen at 360 N. Main St. at 7 a.m. on Thursday, April 25.

A ribbon cutting and open house is planned for Tuesday, May 14, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

Immerse Yourself in Comic Books on May 7

Free Comic Book Day is an annual event by the North American Comic Book sector and iconic publishers like Marvel Comics, DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics to make free comics available to readers across the nation.

The five Ws

  • Who: Everyone school age and up is invited to join us for this free event.
  • What: Celebrate the art, artists and stories of comic books on National Comic Book Day with free comic books, photo ops, crafts, games and a meet and greet with Spider-Man and a local comic portraiture artist. Also, enter a drawing for your chance to win a gift card to Geek City.
  • Where: North Liberty Library, 520 W Cherry St
  • When: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 7, 2022. Attendees are welcome to arrive at any time during the two-hour event.
  • Why: Celebrate comic books.

Who will be there

  • Local comic portraiture artist, Liona Rocca, will do live drawing and answer questions about her art.
  • Spider-Man, your friendly neighborhood hero from Iowa League of Heroes, will pose for photos and sign autographs.
  • North Liberty Library staff with crafts, games and free comic books to giveaway (as supplies last).

What to bring

  • A camera or camera phone for photo opportunities.
  • Feel free to dress up as your favorite hero!

This event is part of the City Slate.
