Parks, Trails, Ponds and Fields Go Tobacco- and Nicotine-free

Each year, our parks, trails, ponds and ballfields are visited and enjoyed by thousands of people looking to get outside, appreciate nature, play and enjoy clean air and sunshine. Starting next week, these spaces will be tobacco- and nicotine-free.
Under the new ordinance, unanimously approved April 12, 2022, by the City Council, the use of tobacco, nicotine, vape and other electronic smoking devices are prohibited in our parks, trails and other city-owned and maintained recreation areas. The new rule looking to provide cleaner air and cleaner parks.
