Library and UAY Seeks Artist to Lead Mural Project
In partnership with United Action for Youth, the North Liberty Library has announced a call for a Black, Indigenous, and/or person of color BIPOC artist to lead a group of student artists for a grant-funded community mural. The muralist will work with UAY and library staff to determine the focus, materials and students’ tasks related to the project. The final piece should be an inclusive representation of the Johnson County youth community. A stipend will be provided to the selected artist.
Artists residing in or near Johnson County, Iowa, will be given preference, and having expertise in muraling or in similar art formats is a plus. Art experience working with a diverse population of teens is recommended.
To apply, complete the form online. Applications should be submitted by 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Late applicants will not be considered.
