This new book discussion group is for adults who enjoy reading or want to start reading YA/Teen and Middle Grade fiction. This month’s read is Amari and the Night Brothers by B.B. Alston.

 Shelter House Booksale

Saturday, March 25 and Sunday, March 26 
10:30AM – 4:00PM 
860 Quarry Road, Coralville 

Each year, Shelter House creates a wonderland of adventure, mystery, and curiosity at the annual Book Sale. Tens of thousands of used books are generously donated by members of the community and sold at low prices to support Shelter Houser’s critical work.  Admission is FREE! Consider an Early Entry pass for $10 to have access to the sale 30 minutes before the general admission on Saturday. More information here.

Tiny Art Show

Feeling artistic? Pick up a tiny (3x3”) canvas at the library and create a mini masterpiece! Use whatever materials you’d like (paint, markers, crayons, pencils, glitter glue, yarn, ribbon, buttons—anything you can make art with) to make your art and then bring it back to the library by March 20th for it to be featured in the Tiny Art Show for everyone to enjoy! 

 2022 Tax Filing – Free preparation and filing help.  

VITA 

The Tippie College of Business and VITA volunteers is scheduling appointments for help filing 2022 tax returns for low and moderate income tax payers. This year appointments will be February 7 – April 11 and they offer electronic filing so refunds can be processed quicker. There are a limited number of appointments so schedule an appointment online through the University of Iowa’s website here as soon as you’re able.  Here is also a list of what they need in order to complete your taxes at your appointment –https://www.biz.uiowa.edu/vita/what-to-bring/. No walk-ins will be accepted. You must set up an appointment. 

AARP 

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides in-person tax assistance to anyone, free of charge, with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income. Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide, and are trained and IRS-certified every year to make sure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code.
