55+ Connections Lunch

North Liberty Rec Center – Classrooms 3 & 4
This week Yang Chow Wok will be bringing lunch for us and after we will have a presentation from Sarah Ross from Compeer of Johnson County. Registration for lunch just $5 and is required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, September 21st. Healthy Aging Fair
Friday, September 22
9 AM – 12 PM
Kirkwood Regional Center – 2301 Oakdale Blvd, Coralville
There will be over 30 resource displays highlighting services for older adults, Tai Chi Demonstrations, flu shots (bring insurance card), health screenings, fitness screenings, medication education by a pharmacist, distracted driving simulator, and light refreshments.
Free Outdoor Yoga

A free, outdoor gathering for yoga, led by Natalie Johnston of Lifestyle Health Therapies. All levels and ages welcome. Bring your own mat and drink.
Beginning with Machine Sewing
Wednesdays from September 27 through October 18

North Liberty Library – Meeting Room A
Join us Wednesdays to learn the parts of your sewing machine and how it works during the first class of this four week program. After that, we’ll learn to make simple projects together with an experienced instructor. Registration is required and limited, so please sign up soon. Participants must bring their own sewing machine.

Pop Up Disc Golf
Now through the end of October
Centennial Park, 1565 St Andrews Dr, North Liberty
Formerly called frisbee golf, disc golf is a is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc at a target; it is played using rules similar to golf. At Centennial Park you’ll find a 9-hole course. Discs, maps and scorecards are available at the Community Center.
