Learn How to Start Your Own Home Childcare Business at Free Information Sessions

The City of North Liberty is hosting two free information sessions to help Johnson County residents interested in being their own boss, set their own hours and educating young minds from the comfort and convenience of your own home, to learn about how local organizations can help support their in-home childcare.

Experts from Iowa Child Care Resource and Referral, or CCR&R, and 4Cs of Johnson County will be at the North Liberty Library, 520 W. Cherry St., on Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024 at 12 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to talk about training resources, the application process, available funding sources and the essentials to prepare your home for a childcare business in Iowa. No registration necessary. Each session will run for one hour. Need to bring your child or dependent along? That’s OK! Children can sit with their guardian or nearby in the same room.

For attendees interested in taking the next step, our community partners will launch a Child Care Ready Series in March 2024; participants will be provided with one-on-one guidance from experts, complete the necessary training as a group, cultivate accountability to reach their goals, and establish a support network to launch their new businesses… all for free in North Liberty.

Cannot attend an information session, but want to be a part of the Child Care Ready Series? We are looking for you, too! Reach out to 4Cs Childcare Workforce Development Consultant Liz Retikis at (319) 338-7684 or [email protected].

This collaborative program is made possible from funding from a North Liberty Social Services Grant and Johnson County Block Grant to 4Cs and funding from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services to CCR&R through the Child Care Development Fund.

We’re committed to providing access, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodation at our events for individuals with disabilities. For accommodations requests, please reach out to [email protected] or call (319) 626-5755.
