Do you like coloring sheets? How about GIANT coloring sheets? We’ll have all sorts of markers, crayons, and pencils to work on a collaborative coloring sheet together! We’ll have coffee and snacks and we might play some music to listen to while we color and chat!
Join us each week for a social gathering full of activities and friendly conversation – board games, puzzles, art, book discussions, and more! No registration required.

It is once again time for our monthly pizza and bingo party! We’ll have a variety of pizzas with different toppings available. Bingo is, as always, free to play with the chance to win small prizes. Registration is $5 and required for all who attend. Participants must register before noon on Thursday, May 2nd. Call the Rec Center to register (319)626-5716 or go online to your RecDesk Account and register yourself.
Every week we ask for two people to bring dessert. You can sign up to bring dessert when you call the Rec to register each week and if you sign up for dessert, you also get lunch free! Not sure what to bring? Maybe try this recipe someone brought a couple weeks ago:
Pudding Cake
Cake ingredients:
1 package white cake mix
1 small package instant pudding
3 eggs
1 cup club soda
1 cup oil
Cake instructions:
Mix together, bake at 350° F for 30 minutes.
Frosting ingredients:
1 ¼ cup milk
1 small package instant pudding
8 ounces cool whip
Frosting instructions:
Beat milk and pudding. Add cool whip and mix together. Enjoy! (The person who gave us this recipe said her favorite pudding flavor to use is coconut cream.)

Living Room Conversations: Trust in Elections

Join us for an engaging Living Room Conversation on “Trust in Elections” at the North Liberty Library on Thursday, May 16th from 6-7:30pm. This thought-provoking event aims to promote open dialogue and active listening around the critical issue of fair and trustworthy elections. Participants will explore personal experiences and perspectives in a respectful environment, fostering skills to tackle complex topics while suspending judgments. Building Inclusive Communities for Seniors

This presentation will share international perspectives (US, Sweden, Japan, and Israel) on how policies to provide housing and care to older adults are arranged based on cultural values and the various roles of government, civil society, and the private market.
