Penn Meadows Playground and Splashpad to See Improvements in August
The playground and splashpad surfaces at Penn Meadows Park will be getting a facelift. The work, to replace the surfaces will require their closure beginning Aug. 7, 2024. Both areas are expected to reopen Aug. 26.
The project will replace the mulch and splashpad surfaces with a poured-in-place, bouncy surface that is also wheelchair accessible. Once reopen, the splashpad will remain open through at least Labor Day, and longer as weather allows. The project also include the addition on a new Simon Says reach panel, chosen in partnership with local therapy center Sensory Kids.
Following the completion of this replacement, the contractor will install the same surface at the new Fox Run Pond playground, which also includes trails for access around the Fox Run Pond, 695 Fox Valley Drive. The new playground is expected to open later in the fall.
