Place Your Vote for Films You Want to Watch at Movies on the Plaza

Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m.: Lilo & Stitch (2025)(PG)
Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.: Honey I Shrunk the Kids (PG)


Movies on the Plaza, a new series presented by the Community Foundation of Johnson County, will take place on Old Town Plaza, the lawn outside City Hall, on three select Fridays.

  • August 15 – 8:30 p.m. showtime (PG-13 movie)
  • September 12 – 7:30 p.m. showtime (PG movie)
  • October 3 – 7:00 p.m. showtime (PG movie)

The community is invited to vote for what films they would like to see. Responses will be accepted through noon on July 7, 2025. Selected films will be announced in the fall activity guide, released mid-July.

North Liberty City Hall is located at 360 N Main St. A plaza was incorporated into the design of City Hall to provide a community gathering place in the heart of town. The space, landscaped with plantings, benches, open greenspace and pavers, will provide a viewing area for the movie screening. Attendees are encourage to begin arriving 30 minutes prior to showtime and are welcome to bring snack and treats to enjoy during the film.
