Minutes

Roll Call

At 6:30 p.m., Chair Ronda Detlefsen called the March 7, 2017 Regular Session of the North Liberty Planning Commission to order. Commission members present:  Jennifer Bleil, Ronda Detlefsen, Adam Gebhart, Jason Heisler, Kylie Pentecost and Patrick Staber; absent: Josh Covert.

 

Others present: Dean Wheatley, Ryan Heiar, Tracey Mulcahey, Kevin Trom, Megan Benischek and other interested parties.

 

Agenda Approval

Bleil moved, Gebhart seconded to approve the agenda. The vote was all ayes. Agenda approved.

 

Linn County REC Site Plan

Staff Presentation

Wheatley presented the request of Linn County REC to approve a site plan for a relocated electrical substation located on 240th Street west of Highway 965.  Staff recommends approval.

 

Applicants Presentation

No applicant presentation was made.

 

Public Comments

No public comments were offered.

 

Questions and Comments

The Commission discussed the application including relocating further from the street, landscaping, and room to expand.

 

Recommendation to the City Council

Bleil moved, Pentecost seconded to recommend approval of the site plan application with no conditions.  The vote was: ayes – Bleil, Heisler, Pentecost, Staber, Gebhart, Detlefsen; nays – none. Motion carried.

 

Approval of Previous Minutes

Heisler moved, Staber seconded to approve the minutes of the February 22, 2017 Planning Commission meeting. The vote was all ayes. Minutes approved.

 

Old Business

No old business was presented.

 

New Business

Wheatley reported that two applications and a possible third will be on the April agenda.

 

Adjournment

At 6:36 p.m., Staber moved, Gebhart seconded to adjourn. All ayes. Meeting adjourned.
