Golden Turkey Hunt Clue for Nov. 29

The prize has been claimed, but the spot is marked if you’d like to continue your hunt for it.

Each Tuesday in November, we’ll release on this website a clue to find a hidden medallion located somewhere on public property in North Liberty. The first person to find the medallion and return it to the Recreation Department’s front desk will win the week’s prize. If the prize isn’t claimed by noon on Friday, we’ll release a second clue. Get the full details.

This week’s prize is a Holiday Meals package:

  • A holiday family meal for six people from Z’s Catering
  • A second holiday family meal pack to give to a family of your choice
  • $100 gift cards for North Liberty Recreation Department programming

The clue is:

North Liberty Fairy Trail

North Liberty’s enchanted residents have returned. The 11 fairies and trolls—who city staff discovered last year and spent the winter visiting warmer communities—have moved their homes back to the North Liberty Recreation Trial between Penn and Cherry streets, just east of the Community Center.

If you’re inspired to get creative after visiting the doors, we invite you to:

  • Create a door of your own to place in your front yard or place of business add it to our map for others to enjoy.
  • Visit more doors that have popped up around North Liberty. This map will help you find them. Children should always be accompanied by an adult when out exploring.
  • Write a short story about one of the fairies or trolls and share it with us through the online form found on doors’ page, along with already published stories.

Fairy and troll doors are popping up all over North Liberty! Make a day of visiting the doors marked at residences and businesses on the map below. Children should always be accompanied by an adult.

If you discover or create a door in your front yard or place of business add it to our Google Map for others to visit.
