Have a Healthy and Happy Halloween with Safety Guidance

Halloween is coming up, but it will look different than years past because, you know, the COVID-19 pandemic.

Johnson County Public Health and other experts caution that traditional trick-or-treating is riskier than alternatives; although interactions door-to-door are typically quick, they usually involve close and frequent contact, the conditions that spread SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. Often, many kids and families gather at doors or on sidewalks, and the more households they visit, the greater chance that germs are spread and linger. Here are some ways to keep yourself, your kids and your community healthy.

W Zeller St/Liberty Heights Neighborhood

The W Zeller St/Liberty Heights neighborhood is located at the center of town where Ranshaw Way meets W Zeller St. It is home to approximately 150 households and is in the Iowa City Community School District. Residents are within walking distance to many area businesses and restaurants, the North Liberty Community Center and Aquatics Center, and the North Liberty Recreation Trail.

Neighborhood Ambassadors

Neighborhood Ambassadors are residents who have volunteered to help navigate their neighbors’ questions and coordinate activities to connect residents of their neighborhood to each other and to the greater community. They are excited to hear from you.
