School Crossing Guard
The City of North Liberty is accepting applications for a School Crossing Guard. Hours are 7:25 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and Friday and 7:25 a.m. to 8:10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. The City of North Liberty is accepting applications for a full-time Police Officer. Applicants must meet minimum ILEA standards, have a good driving record, pass a background investigation and reside within 15 miles of the corporate city limits within 1 year of hire. Physical testing will be required of all applicants. The P.O.S.T. exam is required of all non-certified applicants if they have not tested within the past eight (8) months with an overall passing score of 85% or higher. A study guide and a practice test can be obtained through Stanard and Associates online. Applicants taking the P.O.S.T. exam will be required to pay a fee of $30 at the time of testing. P.O.S.T. testing, physical testing and a brief interview will begin at 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at the North Liberty Community Center, 520 West Cherry Street, North Liberty, IA 52317.
Starting wage for a non-certified officer is $18.54 per hour; after six months of employment wage is $21.44.
Starting wage for a certified officer with less than three years’ experience is $20.86; after six months of employment wage is $23.82.
Starting wage for a certified officer with three or more years’ experience is $21.84 per hour; after six months of employment wage is $24.94.
Aquatic Center – Lifeguards and Swim Instructors
The North Liberty Aquatic Center is currently hiring for part-time year-round lifeguards and swim instructors. Candidates should be at least 15 years old. Experience working with children and swimming is recommended. Swim Instructors will have on-the-job training and lifeguards are required to hold an American Red Cross certification. Recreation Department – Counselors
Supervise children for City of North Liberty’s Before & After School Programs. Work directly with children in leading games, activities, arts, and crafts. Light cleaning duties are involved as well. Must be able to obtain a chauffeur’s license. Post-offer physical, drug screen and background check required.
Part-time Positions: 10-30 hrs per week.
Work Schedule: Before school: M-F 6:45-8:45am, After School: M-F 2:30-6:00pm. TH 1:30-6:00. Other youth programs as needed. We will work around your schedule!
Job Beginning/Ending Dates: ASAP; year round.
Qualifications: 16 years or older
Starting wage: $10.40 per hour, paid bi-weekly

Recreation Department – Front Desk/Building Monitor/Off Site Position
Work Schedule: The possible hours that we need are Monday-Friday, 11:45 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.. There could also be additional hours for special events and after hour rentals.

Job Beginning/Ending Dates: ASAP to Ongoing
Duties: The duties will consist of answering phones, greet patrons, registrations, supervising the facility, answering patron questions and other duties as assigned.
