Special Projects Coordinator
The City of North Liberty Administrative Office has an opening for a Special Projects Coordinator. This position requires a bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration or related field and at least two years of responsible public sector experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which would provide the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform the duties of the position.
This position will assist in a broad range of projects, programs and other activities involving city government administration. The position provides management support for projects and programs, including strategic planning systems, interdepartmental coordination and customer service systems. The position provides highly responsible and complex, executive level management support for the City Administrator’s office. In addition, this position oversees the City’s Safety Program.
Applicant must be self-motivated, have a high energy level, have the ability to multi-task and work effectively under pressure. Must possess excellent communication skills, organizational and customer service skills. Applicant must possess the ability to analyze problems and identify solutions and to think flexibly and innovatively. Must be proficient with PCs and computer software and have general knowledge of office equipment. Applicants must have the ability to present publicly in various media formats, have an understanding of current City policies and initiatives and a thorough knowledge of City government regulations.

The City of North Liberty Water Pollution Control Plant is accepting applications for a summer intern to work for three months, beginning July 3, 2017. Applicants must be 18 years of age. Work schedule will be flexible for college students. The intern will be taught the basic chemistry, biology, electrical and mechanical skills necessary to treat the incoming wastewater to protect the downstream environment. Job duties include mowing, painting, plant and lift station operations, maintenance, lab sample collection and testing and other tasks as assigned. Recreation Department – Counselors
Supervise children for City of North Liberty’s Before & After School Programs. Work directly with children in leading games, activities, arts, and crafts. Light cleaning duties are involved as well. Part-time Positions: 10-30 hrs per week.
Work Schedule: Before school: M-F 6:45-8:45am, After School: M-F 2:30-6:00pm. TH 1:30-6:00. Other youth programs as needed. We will work around your schedule!

Recreation Department – Front Desk/Building Monitor/Off Site Position
Work Schedule: The possible hours that we need are Monday-Friday, 11:45 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.. There could also be additional hours for special events and after hour rentals.

Duties: The duties will consist of answering phones, greet patrons, registrations, supervising the facility, answering patron questions and other duties as assigned.
