Storm Water Coordinator

The City of North Liberty, which is a MS-4 community, has an opening for a Storm Water Coordinator.  This position is responsible for storm water management, regulations, permitting, field inspections and managing related programs.

Applicants must demonstrate a high energy level, be self-motivated and detail-oriented and must possess excellent customer service and organizational skills.  Applicants must possess the ability to analyze problems and identify solutions.  Knowledge of MS-4 regulations, NPDES and SUDAS is required.

A minimum of two years of college or trade school with a focus on environmental sciences or related field and one year of related experience is required, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the job duties.  A valid Iowa driver’s license is required.

Salary range is $49,587 to $53,227, depending on qualifications.

Aquatic Center – Lifeguards and Swim Instructors

The North Liberty Aquatic Center is currently hiring for part-time year-round lifeguards and swim instructors. Candidates should be at least 15 years old. Experience working with children and swimming is recommended. Swim Instructors will have on-the-job training and lifeguards are required to hold an American Red Cross certification. Recreation Department – Counselors

Supervise children for City of North Liberty’s Before & After School Programs. Work directly with children in leading games, activities, arts, and crafts. Light cleaning duties are involved as well.  Must be able to obtain a chauffeur’s license. Post-offer physical, drug screen and background check required.

Part-time Positions:  10-30 hrs per week.
Work Schedule:  Before school: M-F 6:45-8:45am, After School: M-F 2:30-6:00pm. TH 1:30-6:00.  Other youth programs as needed. We will work around your schedule!
Job Beginning/Ending Dates:  ASAP; year round.
Qualifications:  16 years or older.

Recreation Department – Front Desk/Building Monitor/Off Site Position

Work Schedule: The possible hours that we need are Monday-Friday, 11:45 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.. There could also be additional hours for special events and after hour rentals.
Hours per Week: 10-30
Job Beginning/Ending Dates: ASAP to Ongoing
Duties: The duties will consist of answering phones, greet patrons, registrations, supervising the facility, answering patron questions and other duties as assigned.

The Recreation Department is continually seeking individuals interested in teaching a variety of leisure and fitness classes on a contractual basis. Fire Department – Volunteer Firefighters

The North Liberty Volunteer Fire Department is looking for individuals over the age of 18 who live or work in Penn or Madison Townships (this includes all of North Liberty and some surrounding area) to serve as volunteer firefighters.
