Parks Maintenance Workers (Seasonal)

The City of North Liberty Parks Department is accepting applications for full-time or part-time seasonal Parks Maintenance Workers. Applicants will assist in the maintenance of all City parks and grounds, including landscaping, ball field maintenance and playground equipment upkeep. Waste Water Operator I

The City of North Liberty, population 19,000, has an opening for a full-time Wastewater Operator I to work at the City’s membrane bio-reactor water pollution control plant. This is a new position due to the current plant expansion. Job duties include plant/lift station operations, maintenance, lab sample collection and testing and other tasks as assigned. Applicant must possess or have the ability to obtain a Grade 1 Iowa Wastewater Operator Certificate within 18 months of employment and a Grade 2 Wastewater Operator Certificate within 36 months of employment. Applicant must possess an Iowa Class B CDL with air brake endorsement or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment. Starting salary range $19.42 to $20.83, depending on qualifications. Streets Laborers

The City of North Liberty is seeking two full-time Streets Laborers.  Applicants will provide general labor support for street, storm water and wastewater line maintenance.  Knowledge and experience in construction and related equipment and concrete flatwork is preferred.  Applicant should possess a wide range of mechanical skills.  A valid Class A CDL with air-brake endorsement and tanker required or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.  Salary range $34,861 to $39,208, depending on qualifications. Aquatic Center: Daytime Weekday Lifeguards

Our aquatic center is hiring lifeguards for daytime weekday hours through the school year, up to 29 hours per week. The position is great for a stay-at-home parent with kids in school or anyone looking for daytime, part-time employment.

Starting wage for lifeguards is $10.40. While American Red Cross certification is required, our pool staff can certify qualified staff who don’t come to the job with the certification. Aquatic Center: Lifeguards and Swim Instructors

The North Liberty Aquatic Center is currently hiring for part-time year-round lifeguards and swim instructors. Candidates should be at least 15 years old. Experience working with children and swimming is recommended. Swim Instructors will have on-the-job training and lifeguards are required to hold an American Red Cross certification. Recreation Department: Counselors

Supervise children for City of North Liberty’s Before & After School Programs. Work directly with children in leading games, activities, arts, and crafts. Light cleaning duties are involved as well.  Must be able to obtain a chauffeur’s license. Post-offer physical, drug screen and background check required.

Part-time Positions:  10-30 hrs per week.
Work Schedule:  Before school: M-F 6:45-8:45am, After School: M-F 2:30-6:00pm. TH 1:30-6:00.  Other youth programs as needed. We will work around your schedule!

Qualifications:  16 years or older
Starting wage: $10.40 per hour, paid bi-weekly

Recreation Department: Front Desk/Building Monitor/Off Site Position

Work Schedule: The possible hours that we need are Monday-Friday, 11:45 a.m. – 9:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday 7:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., or 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.. There could also be additional hours for special events and after hour rentals.
Hours per Week: 10-30
Job Beginning/Ending Dates: ASAP to Ongoing
Duties: The duties will consist of answering phones, greet patrons, registrations, supervising the facility, answering patron questions and other duties as assigned.

Fire Department: Volunteer Firefighters

The North Liberty Volunteer Fire Department is looking for individuals over the age of 18 who live or work in Penn or Madison Townships (this includes all of North Liberty and some surrounding area) to serve as volunteer firefighters.
