Admire nine ice sculptures along the trail in Penn Meadows Park!
Master carvers will create works of frozen art the morning of Saturday, Jan. 30. Stop by in the morning to watch them in action, or visit the sculptures at your leisure any time on Jan. 30 and 31 or right before the 15-minute winter fireworks display presented by GIECO Careers at 7 p.m. on Jan. 31. Sculptures will be illuminated both evenings.
Parking is available in both the north or south lots of Penn Meadows Park and the Ice Sculpture Walk will be on the trail between the play structure and tennis courts.
Per Johnson County’s mandate, attendees should wear a face mask while in the park and maintain at least six feet of social distance between households.

Make an impact while jamming out with The Pork Tornadoes from the comfort and safety of your own home! The Igloo Jam presented by GreenState Credit Union returns (virtually) for its third year on Saturday, Jan. 30.
The livestream concert will raise funds for the United Way of Johnson & Washington Counties Community Disaster Relief Fund, currently focused on ensuring that our region’s most vulnerable families have the support they need to weather the short and long-term impacts of the coronavirus outbreak. The relief fund deploys resources offering emergency relief to families and individuals in need, such as:
- Seniors and home-bound individuals
- Families and individuals facing the loss of income due to business and school closures
- Individuals without health insurance, sick days or family medical leave
- College students already facing barriers as they complete their education
- People experiencing homelessness and who do not have the resources they need to stay safe
- College students already facing barriers as they complete their education
You won’t want to miss the chance to bring this full-production, amazing lightshow and HD video and sound quality concert with Iowa’s hottest party band to your living room where you can dance where literally NO ONE is watching! The Pork Tornadoes is a Cedar Falls-based band that has played across the Midwest at the best and biggest bars, venues and festivals. Having played more than 700+ shows in the last 12 years, this band has perfected their show into an experience you won’t find anywhere else. If you attended our in-person Igloo Jam in 2020 (one of the ONLY fun memories last year), you know what we’re talking about. Full disclosure, the Igloo Jam livestream includes the same playlist at the band’s New Year’s Eve livestream, but will be tailored to our event.
The 90-min show kicks off at 8 p.m. on Jan. 30. Make plans to join us by claiming a free ticket below. Admire nine ice sculptures along the trail in Penn Meadows Park!
Master carvers will create works of frozen art the morning of Saturday, Jan. 30. Stop by in the morning to watch them in action, or visit the sculptures at your leisure any time on Jan. 30 and 31 or right before the 15-minute winter fireworks display presented by GIECO Careers at 7 p.m. on Jan. 31. Sculptures will be illuminated both evenings.
Parking is available in both the north or south lots of Penn Meadows Park and the Ice Sculpture Walk will be on the trail between the play structure and tennis courts.
Per Johnson County’s mandate, attendees should wear a face mask while in the park and maintain at least six feet of social distance between households.

Thanks to GEICO Careers, Beat the Bitter’s annual 15-minute winter fireworks display is back on Sunday, Jan. 31, at 7 p.m. in Penn Meadows Park.
Bundle up and bring along blankets–or maybe even your sled to sit in, and while you wait for the show to begin take a stroll on the park’s trail and enjoy the Ice Sculpture Walk.
Per Johnson County mandate, attendees should wear a face mask if enjoying the show outside of a vehicle and maintain at least six feet of social distance between households.
