Speed limit reduced during Highway 965 construction

July 13, 2010 — Starting this week, the speed limit in the construction zone of Highway 965 will be reduced to 25 miles per hour. This will continue for the duration of the project, which is slated to be completed by the end of the year.

Per state law, fines may be doubled for speeding in a construction area. City Administrator, Ryan Heiar, says, “It’s starting to come together out there: the temporary section was placed last week to ensure two lanes would remain open during construction and the widening of the road starts now.  Drivers should still plan for extra travel time. We are telling everyone to be safe. As I have more information on this and other projects, I will be sure to update the blog.”

The City of North Liberty thanks you for your patience. Heiar’s blog is available at northlibertyiowa.org/category/ryan-heiar/
