Highway 965 Progress Continues

Windy enough for you out there?  Unfortunately folks, summer is gone…and boy did it fly by.  Hopefully the “S” word will not be mentioned for another couple of months.  Despite the rain and wind, we continue to make progress on Highway 965.

Most of the paving for the project is completed.  The contractors will be doing some hand pours (not using the big paving machine) for patch work, cross walks and edge work.  Much of the paving will be going on in the middle of Highway 965, resulting in traffic being altered on the roadway.  Keep an eye out for equipment and workers in the middle of the road.

The Golfview Drive intersection is fully graded and ready to be paved.  Depending on weather, paving should commence on Monday.  Because of the layout of this new intersection, paving will take some time to complete.  I do not have an estimated opening date of Golfview, but will be sure to keep you posted.

The decorative intersections are starting to come together.  The seats walls and brick paver sidewalks will be completed this year.  The vegetation planting will probably need to be delayed until  next spring in order to avoid planting in frost.  The intersections, when fully complete, will look great!

Traffic signals are scheduled to go up at the Ashley Court and Fairview/Golfview intersection late in November.  This is very exciting news as these traffic control lights will no doubt improve the accesses onto Highway 965.

I want to take a moment and apologize for my lack of blogs over the last month.  As this project winds down, I will be sure to keep you better posted on what’s happening.  Thanks for reading.  Stay warm and go Hawks!
