Progress along Penn and Jones requires lane closures

Crews will begin painting lane lines in North Liberty on Wednesday, June 15, in preparation for the next stage of the Penn Street Expansion project. For the safety of the workers, Penn Street will be reduced to a single lane, with flaggers, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The sidewalk along Penn Street, from the LL Pelling driveway to Highway 965, will close immediately. Additionally, the city is asking the public not to cross at Jones Boulevard to access the northbound trail since the intersection is closed, and, for their own safety, to stay outside of all barricaded construction areas.
Finally, due to unexpected drainage work, the Harvest Street and Jones Boulevard intersection will be reduced to a single open lane as early as the afternoon of Tuesdays, June 14.
City staff continues to appreciate residents’ patience as we make needed upgrades to our rapidly growing city’s roads and infrastructure.
