Noise, dust and delays expected as Pheasant Lane is extended to Highway 965
As construction of Pheasant Lane nears completion, residents may notice an increase in noise and experience travel interruptions at the intersection of Pheasant Lane and Highway 965, in North Liberty north of Penn Street.
On Monday, July 15, workers are scheduled to pour concrete to complete the extension of Pheasant Lane to Highway 965. Concrete saw cutting will follow. Saw cutting, a necessary step to prevent fresh concrete from shrinking and cracking, is scheduled to begin outside of normal working hours, and is likely to go into the night and early morning hours. To help with noise and dust, residents near the project are asked to keep windows closed.
Additionally, workers are expected to pour road shoulders at the intersection on Friday, July 19, and Friday, July 26. During these days, Highway 965 will be open to north- and south-bound traffic but at a single lane with flaggers around the intersection. Residents should allow for extra travel time. Afterhours saw cutting is expected on these two evenings, as well, as work moves towards completion of the extension.
