Road construction: N. Front Street

Weather permitting, on Thursday, July 31, the east side and half of the west side of the intersection of Jefferson and Front streets will be closed to allow crews to remove and replace concrete. A detour along Hodge and Penn streets will be in effect during this closure.
These closures are expected to last at least a week so concrete can cure before traffic is allowed to drive on it.
Next week, contractors anticipate reconstructing half of entries to South Slope (Monday, Aug. 4), and Cedar Springs Drive (Tuesday or Wednesday). Similarly, the closure time is expected to be at least one week from closure to re-opening to traffic. By reconstructing half of each entrance at a time, there will be enough space to maintain two-way traffic in and out at each.
The second half of South Slope, Jefferson Street and Cedar Springs Drive will be reconstructed following the reopening of the first half.
