Nominations for the North Liberty Hall of Fame sought

The City of North Liberty is seeking nominations for 2015 induction into the community’s Hall of Fame. The award was developed in 2013 to recognize individuals who provided extraordinary public service and dedication to the community.
Past inductees are Russ Gerdin, in 2013, a philanthropist and the founder of Heartland Express; Tom Salm, in 2014, a mayor who took office during a time of turmoil and led North Liberty forward with vision, consensus and selflessness; and Natlie Wilkerson, in 2013, who gave selflessly of her time, particularly to those in need, and helped found the North Liberty Community Pantry;
Nominations for 2015 recipients may be made through Oct. 15, 2015, after which the city council and mayor will select inductees based on service rendered to the community, with special consideration given to those who demonstrate a high level of volunteer leadership. Participation in local volunteer organizations, longevity in public service and community impact are also considered. Eligible nominees must live, work or provide services directly to the North Liberty community. Inductees will be announced at a fall banquet.
