“Thank you.”

In the wake of the reported shootings where five officers were killed, and seven officers along with two community members were injured, North Liberty Police officers have received an outpouring of support from the citizens we serve.

We have received emails, messages, and phone calls expressing their appreciation for NLPD.

We were graced with brownies, cookies and cards from a group of local children.

An anonymous veteran who served with one of the Dallas Police Department officers who was killed brought us a dozen sandwiches and cookies. He wanted to honor his friend and chose us to help him do so. We are touched and honored by his gesture. To this gentleman who rides a Harley, we owe you a hug and are very sorry for your loss.

Officers encountered multiple citizens in the course of their duties who expressed their appreciation. We know the tragedy in Dallas has helped the normally quiet supporters of law enforcement feel the need to express their appreciation for the bravery and sacrifice of those Officers. NLPD officers are wearing mourning bands on their badges to honor that sacrifice. We will wear these until July 31.
While we are not looking for more goodies, treats or foods, we would like to take a moment to thank you, the citizens of North Liberty. It is our honor to serve you.
